Recently cleaned was the shop floor in Tobermore Spar.

A very large and busy shop in the village of Tobermore, it is used for everything by the people of the area from day to day groceries to a weekly shop and with the local post office being situated inside as well as a hot food counter, the foot traffic this shop floor gets is quite substantial.

The floor is an Antigo vinyl tile with a brass strip in the joints, and had collected dirt quite easily.

As a shop floor is mopped clean every night, the small particles of dirt that fall of the mop soon start to collect over a period of time and get walked into the tile over that period of time that a mop clean will not remove. A mop clean is also spreading small particles of dirt and this can be easily seen in close to shop shelving where it is continuously gathering, giving the shop floor a very dull and unhygienic look.

At Tiles and grout cleaning we were able to restore the floor using our innovative cleaning methods, giving the floor a real shine to it again, making it aesthetically pleasing on the eye and most important of all were food is concerned, making the shop even more hygienic.

On each floor level the Toilet and wash room areas were cleaned, each floor level had a gents and female toilets plus a disabled toilet and a lobby area. The toilet areas on each floor catered for up to 200 members of staff and the Floor tiles and grout had collected so much dirt from so much use, plus traditional mop cleaning meant that dirty water was just lying in the tile and grout joints and building up over a number of years.

A porcelain tile in the main lobby area had collected quite a bit of dirt in the ‘dimples’ of the tile and because of the foot traffic going through this area, the grout had gone from a light grey to a black colour.
